PROJECT MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY

QR’s Project Manager will be the main point of contact once the project begins.  The function of the Project Manager will be to finalize the project plan and then once approved by both parties, direct resources based upon that plan.  The PM will be the main liaison to all resources both inside of QR as well as third party services.  It is also important that the QR PM not just manage the project, but know what the products to be implemented are and what they are capable of doing.  This is one of the key reasons why QR only uses PMs that have working knowledge of the Infor Public Sector (IPS) system.  Of course the QR PM will be in constant contact with the Agency to make sure that they are always kept in the loop and have current status of all pieces of the project.  Here are some of the responsibilities of the QR PM:

  • Conduct initial project startup meeting with the Agency’s Project Director/Manager and Agency Core Team.
  • Assign QR staff.
  • Coordinate QR’s activities with the Agency’s Project Director/Manager during the project duration.
  • Participate in project reviews, as requested by the Agency’s Project Director/Manager.
  • Function as primary QR contact during the life of this project.
  • Track billable services according to budgeted resources.
  • Manage the completion of project deliverables according to project schedule.
  • Coordinate QR services including installation, training, and data conversion.
  • Facilitate status meetings with Core Team to discuss progress, issues, and upcoming tasks.
  • Maintain and enforce quality assurance procedures and best practices during project lifecycle.
  • Submit status reports to Agency’s Project Director/Manager which track group accomplishments, monthly tasks and milestones, issues and key decisions, and schedule updates.
  • Track project scope changes.
  • Maintain issues log and collaborate with the Agency’s Project Director/Manager to resolve project issues.
